An open science leader with over twenty years of experience in the field, Dario has devoted his career to building programs, strategies, and solutions to transform scientific collaboration and knowledge production and dissemination through principles of open research. As a Science Program Officer at the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, he leads a portfolio of partnerships and philanthropic investments in tools, platforms, and organizations aimed at helping scientists share data, knowledge, and resources in the open and build on each other’s work. Prior to joining CZI, he served as the Head of Research at the Wikimedia Foundation, the non-profit that operates Wikipedia and its sister projects. He was trained as a behavioral and computational scientist and holds a PhD and MSc in Cognitive Science from the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales, Paris, an MA in Philosophy of Science from the University of Pisa and a licenza from the Scuola Normale Superiore in Italy.
